This lesson we learned to write a proper introduction of an essay. On first class we learned about thesis statement and the next class we learned about hook and transition. In order to make a complete introductory paragraph we need to include a hook, transition, an a complete thesis statement.

The Hook - Designed to grab attention immediately and give some indication about the essay’s topic .

6. Contrast to the thesis statement

The Transition - Moves the reader from the hook to the driving force of the essay .
The Thesis - Makes the contract with the reader about what will be discussed without a
announcement.
