Transition Signal

Just now we learned about transition signal. Transition signals are words and phrases that link one sentence with another sentence, usually the one immediately before it. They can also be used in a compound sentence to connect the second independent clause with the first one. These words and phrases function as adverbs that modify entire sentences; hence, they are called sentence adverbs.

So far, this is the best activity that we've ever done. We've been given a theme from newspaper cut. Our group get a student lend a hand cleaning a park. So our theme is about students cleaning a park. In this activity i came out with a lot of good songs. So our scene was about a Teacher tell his students that their activity today is to clean the park but they refuse to do so. But, we were in musical. So they sang the Lazy song by Bruno Mars. But then the teacher explain about they need to take care our world. This part we sang Heal the world by Michael Jackson. There also a few songs that we use such as One less lonely girl by Justin Bieber and Marry you also by Bruno Mars. Thumbs up to my group. I'am proud to be in my group. :D

Writing a intoductory paragraph

This lesson we learned to write a proper introduction of an essay. On first class we learned about thesis statement and the next class we learned about hook and transition. In order to make a complete introductory paragraph we need to include a hook, transition, an a complete thesis statement.



The Hook - Designed to grab attention immediately and give some indication about the essay’s topic .
                          1. Personal examples
                              2. Quotations
                              3. Facts or statistics
                              4. Rhetorical questions
                              5. Current events
                              6. Contrast to the thesis statement
                              7. Definition

The Transition - Moves the reader from the hook to the driving force of the essay .

The Thesis - Makes the contract with the reader about what will be discussed without a
announcement.

Pronouns

Before this we learned about nouns and today we learned about pronouns.

A pronoun is a word that takes the place of one or more nouns .

Personal pronoun -(exp he,they,we,it and i at the begining)
Posessive Pronouns - make ourself as it(exp it, mine)
Interogative Pronouns - with "wh" form question (who,how)
Indefinite Pronouns - (exp, each,one many few)
Demonstrative Pronouns - (that,these)>>Pointing out things 
Other Pronouns - (exp all: both,either,nor,neigther,little,less,fewer)





At the end of this class we did an outdoor activity. We made two big circles and we talk to each other but must include pronouns. Sometimes, wwe need to do a few activities and i think this activity was fun and i enjoyed it.

This class was about saying goodbye. We learned how to say goodbye in few different languages. After that we need to create a scene where we need say goodbye to partner. My group members for this class was Faiq and Asyraf. We act a scene where two brothers leaving to join a war but another brother cannot join them because of injury.

pRe - wRitiNG

Today in class BEL120, JBM1141A learn about Pre-Writing technique .. The first is brainstorming, second is Clustering (mind mapping), the third is a freewriting and finally was quickwriting .. I wrote the freewriting like this "I'm in class BEL120. Today is Friday and this week time to back home. When I in class, my mind always thinking about my home. Actually, i miss my family .. I miss to go to Batu Pahat Mall. I love shopping with my sister and now, I'm still thinking what the time I can arrive at my home because i'm still not finish yet to pack my bag. At saturday, I will celebrate my birthday with my special bestfriend. I excited to celebrate it .. I want back! "Miss Zu said, freewriting is non technique, just ignore all the grammar that is only necessary to write what goes on in our minds.

Noun as Adjective
Sometimes we use a noun to describe another noun. In that case, the first noun is "acting as" an adjective.

Compound Nouns
A compound noun is a noun that is made with two or more words.

tennis shoe, six-pack, bedroom.

Noun is a word used to name a person,animal,place,thing and abstract idea. Nouns are usually the first words which small children learn. This is type of noun : common noun , proper noun, noun-countable, possessive noun, countable noun, abstract noun, concrete noun and collective noun. In these activities, we need to answer the questions given by Miss Zu in the slide show ..This learning will make us better remember. I like very much to learn in this way .. frankly, I did not understand English are taught in school, expecially I do not know how to writing essay, but after studying with Miss Zu, I can accept a little bit of knowledge that is given .. I love English

Acting a P. Ramlee's scene

Tan Sri Dr. P. Ramlee (1929 - 1973) whose real name is Teuku Zakaria Teuku Nyak Puteh is an actor, singer, director, music player and song writer popular in Malaysia and Singapore.

What i think about this activity? Well i think this activity was great and all of us had fun in class. We did not expect that miss zu will give us a task like this. It's my first time acting a P. Ramlee's scene. In this acting i felt a little bit shy but i tried my best to perform and alhamdulillah i manage to do it my best. My group choose a scene that i have never watch before but i can imagine P. Ramlee acting in that scene. I think that acting activity is a good activity. It may improve our self confident.
